Royal Mail is one of the largest employers in the UK, as it employs more than 160,000 people (across the Group). On average, 1 out of every 180 employed people in the UK works for it. Thus, ensuring employee health and safety is a key priority for Royal Mail.

The health, safety and wellbeing of its employees is a continuous priority for Royal Mail Tweet This!. In order to ensure occupational health and safety Royal Mail took action to:
• prevent accidents
• assess risks and learn from incidents
• reduce the risk of confrontation and dog attacks
• investigate fatalities and serious incidents
• support employees’ health and wellbeing
