Description

Fake engagements only work if both parties remember they're supposed to be faking it…

Damsels in distress don't interest Max Sterling. But that didn't stop him from posing as his gorgeous client's fiancé when she needed him. Having a fake girlfriend might keep his momma off his back about his bachelor status, too. It was a win-win. Until he started developing very real feelings and ruined everything…

Hailey Ellison had her reasons for creating an imaginary fiancé. But she never expected her hot realtor to rescue her when the ruse was about to be exposed. She never thought a man like him could want a curvy girl like her, either. So, imagine her surprise when he seemed more than willing to reap the sexy benefits of their pretend engagement…

Max and Hailey are about to find out just how complicated things can be when the line between real and pretend starts to blur.

But, oh, the fun they'll have in the meantime…

Faking It, book 2 in the Book Boyfriend series, is a spicy, fake relationship, contemporary romance that can be read as a standalone. Download today and get ready for the dirty-talking book boyfriend you never knew you needed.

  • Cute sweet story but clunky writing

This really could have used some editing. Some glaring examples from the first few chapters: “‘Are you okay?’ he asked, wanting to make certain that she was fine.” “He’d been attracted to Hailey from the first day they’d met, and the more he learned about her, the more his interest increased, not diminished as it normally did with the women he’d dated in the past—or with the women his mother set him up with.” But overall a cute sweet story.

Fun story with believable characters. We all know the (insert your own dirty word here) person that we would love to push in front of a bus-Alison. We all have good friends also. Love that this is a stand alone book.

Hailey and Max were the perfect couple. She, with all of her insecurities, wanting to believe a man like Max could want to be with her, and he, with issues of his own, come together with patience and understanding to be a great couple.

This book was filled with hot sex scenes. The story to this book however was one that all too many women have to face. An average weight women made to feel less because she was not stick thin. This abuse came from both men and women until one man loved her enough to show her otherwise.

It couldn’t put the book down. The plot wasn’t very hard to follow, and the lack of dramatic splash into the story made it to love.

I loved this book! Hailey is a matchmaker and does really well at it except when it comes to her own love life. She has body and self-esteem issues that she has been struggling with for years. Max is such a great guy. He is a gentleman, loves his family and friends and so understanding and patient with Hailey. They are in a fake engagement that is mutally beneficial. As they agree to attend certain social events, Hailey and Max get to know each other...very well to the point where they want it to be real, that is, until the charade is outed. This is a really great cast of characters and I enjoy catching up with them from the previous books. But, the dynamic between Hailey and Max is extra special. It is sweet and sexy which makes this book a must read.

This is book #2 in the Book Boyfriend series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. I recommend reading this series in order. Hailey is saved by Max when a nosy busybody interferes in her life. The consequences of the save, however, means they must play along for a time. Hailey is attracted to Max for real. Could this be a love match? Max has wanted Hailey for himself for some time. Playing her missing man is easy when he wants to put his hands on her. It gets more complicated as time goes on, but Max has started thinking that the future may need to be different than he thought. This book has a lot of humor, heat, and heart. I love that the characters are honest with one another. Well, as much as they can be. This was a sexy and fun read. ***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review.
