♥  Sweet romance!

From New York Times bestselling author Lauren Royal and her daughter comes the first novel in their beloved series featuring the “outrageously funny, loyal, and endearing” Chase family.

Amethyst Goldsmith makes dazzling jewelry, but her future isn’t nearly as bright as the pieces she creates. Though custom dictates she wed her father’s apprentice, her heart rebels against the match. In mere days Amy will be condemned to a stifling, loveless marriage, and she sees no way out—until the devastating fire of 1666 sweeps through London, and tragedy lands her in the arms of a dashing young earl who knows a diamond in the rough when he sees it…

Colin Chase, the Earl of Greystone, has his future all figured out. He’s restoring his crumbling castle and estate to its former glory, and the key to its completion is his rich bride-to-be. But the Great Fire lays waste to his plans, saddling him with trouble—in the form of a penniless shopkeeper’s daughter with whom he’s most inconveniently falling in love…

So terrible I had to quit after 100 pages. I was hopeful it would get better because of other reviews. The story was suppose to take place in late 1600’s. It is difficult to put oneself in that time period when the dialogue is 2019. These authors of historical England need to do some research of that time period if they want to captivate their audience. I am so glad I didn’t pay for the stupid book.I give one star thinking my review will be rejected if I don’t give any.

My favorite part is how it doesnt just end at the wedding kiss. I loved getting a clear view of day to day life, and, honestly, would be just as happy to have a follow up book covering the skipped 6 years (or more)! I can’t wait to sink my teeth in to the next one.

I truly enjoyed the descriptive chapters, and historical accuracy which put the reader in the moment. There were a lot of grammar and spelling errors. Publisher needs me to review before printing.

This is a well researched historical romance with an engaging story line. Not too many steamy scenes so good for teen readers as well. I highly recommend it.

The book is pretty much a description of a castle. It described it very well it even make me do a research to see its true. If you are looking for a funny romantic story this isn't for you. The best part is when Colin and Barbara pranks Pricilla. I almost stop reading it at the beginning pages. The plot was better by page 1000 but I didn't finish it, I just couldn't take it anymore.
