Description

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Giver of Stars and the forthcoming Someone Else's Shoes, Paris for One and Other Stories is an irresistibly romantic collection filled with humor and heart.

“A vicarious jolt of Parisian romance. . . Delightful.” –People Magazine

"An old-fashioned, feel-good love story. . . It’s as if Moyes has booked a vacation and is taking us along. To Paris. Amour!” –USA Today

“Dreamy escapism, a book you can curl up with and easily finish over a weekend, with or without a glass of wine.” –Miami Herald

Nell is twenty-six and has never been to Paris. She's never even been on a romantic weekend away—to anywhere—before. Traveling abroad isn't really her thing. But when Nell's boyfriend fails to show up for their mini-vacation, she has the opportunity to prove everyone—including herself—wrong.  Alone in Paris, Nell finds a version of herself she never knew existed: independent and intrepid. Could this turn out to be the most adventurous weekend of her life? Funny, charming, and irresistible, "Paris for One" is quintessential Jojo Moyes—as are the other stories that round out the collection.

I find short stories to be unfulfilling. They are rarely long enough to engage my emotions. And if by chance they do, they then leave me wanting more. This collection is incredible. Paris For One is lovely. The others are riveting. I found myself holding my breath while reading one, thinking about most of them after I finished them. Buy this book! You won't be disappointed. I am in awe of Jojo Moyes. I knew she was an amazing writer because of her novels, but what she has been able to do with short stories has blown me away.

Reading Paris for One is like reading a sixth-grader’s writing assignment. It’s simple prose and predictability do not engage the reader. The other short stories are more impactful in execution of the plot and twist, some are even pleasantly surprising.

I'm not really English but have to speak like them after reading this book😊. I'd had the worst day ever, spent it in bed and started reading this book. Just finished it at the end if the day and it cheered me right up. Collection of novella, followed by a few short stories. Enjoyed then very much, they were uplifting. Go ahead & take the plunge - and if you don't feel better after reading it, look me up and I'll give you five bucks😉
