Description

Instant New York Times Bestseller

The much anticipated sequel to the breathtaking The Wrath and the Dawn, lauded by Publishers Weekly as "a potent page-turner of intrigue and romance."

I am surrounded on all sides by a desert. A guest, in a prison of sand and sun. My family is here. And I do not know whom I can trust.

In a land on the brink of war, Shahrzad has been torn from the love of her husband Khalid, the Caliph of Khorasan. She once believed him a monster, but his secrets revealed a man tormented by guilt and a powerful curse—one that might keep them apart forever. Reunited with her family, who have taken refuge with enemies of Khalid, and Tariq, her childhood sweetheart, she should be happy. But Tariq now commands forces set on destroying Khalid's empire. Shahrzad is almost a prisoner caught between loyalties to people she loves. But she refuses to be a pawn and devises a plan.

While her father, Jahandar, continues to play with magical forces he doesn't yet understand, Shahrzad tries to uncover powers that may lie dormant within her. With the help of a tattered old carpet and a tempestuous but sage young man, Shahrzad will attempt to break the curse and reunite with her one true love.

This series is my favorite series ever. It’s so good, it has a solid fast-moving plot and an amazing romance. I do like the first boom better than this one, because this one has so much Tariq-Shazi content, and less adorable Khalid-Shazi content. I hate Tariq, so I wish there was less of him in this book

What a wonderful and beautiful tale that held me captivated from the first book to the end of the second! The steadfast and growing love between Shazi and Khalid was magical and prevailed throughout this story. The only complaint I have is that I wish the ending was a bit longer as to bring this magnificent story to a close. But no matter. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.

Amazing! I couldn’t put it down. I felt like I was part of the book. The Author did a tremendous job drawing you in with the characters and their stories. I wanted to know more. I wanted their love to grow. I wanted them the break the curse. As soon as I ended the last chapter I verbally yelled “What!?” I just bought the second book. I can’t wait to read it.

This sequel was amazing. There was a lot of twists and turns- which made me love this story way more. The author's writing is my all time fav, she's so poetic and creative when she chooses her words. ALSO THIS BY FAR IS MY FAV ROMANCE COUPLE/STORY EVER. The only thing I have troubled with in this book, is that it's the last book. DUOLOGY??!! Pls write another book Renée, I'm not ready to give up this epic love story and couple of adventures.

I absolutely loved this book from the very beginning! The prologue was very intriguing and it pulled me into the story. I read this book very quickly and found it hard to put it down because it was that good and interesting. I found myself not only reading words but I felt like I was right there with the characters. The character development was very good and I found myself caring for these character more than I thought I would. I loved the writing in this book, it was done very beautifully and you could tell the author did a lot of research for this book. Since this book is in another country there were some words I didn’t understand so I had to look them up and once I finished the book I noticed there was a glossary in the back of the book! I really enjoyed learning about a different culture that’s different from mine. There was also a little magic in this book that I feel wasn’t needed but other than that I thought this book was absolutely perfect in every way. I highly recommend this book to everyone at the age of 13 or higher and I think most people will love this book just like I did, because it pulls you into this amazing story and you aren't able to put it down. The Wrath and the Dawn is a truly amazing story.
